English > Chinese: Urgent: Technical Interpreting in Greensboro, NC
Hello,
KJ International Resources is seeking 1-2 Mandarin Chinese interpreters for a long term engagement in Greensboro, NC.
Here’s some quick information on the scope of the project.
We are estimating 40 hour weeks of onsite interpretation for 12 weeks (480 hours).
• The dates of the engagement: 2/4-2/8, 2/11-2/15,
2/25-3/1, 3/4-3/8, 3/25-4/1, 4/29-5/3, 5/6-5/10, 5/13-5/17, 5/20-5/24, 5/27-5/31, 8/5-8/9, 8/12-8/16, 8/19-8/23, 8/26-8/30.
These will be 8-hour work days, with lunch provided on-site.
• What type of interpretation is needed? Consecutive.
The plan would be to have an individual walking the production floor with Chinese trainees and assisting in communication with English trainers on equipment, tools, & processes.
• Where are the Chinese engineers from? Mainland China
– Qingdao & Zhuhai, China
• What technical background is required? Mechanical
engineering – this would benefit to have a technical background for understanding of manufacturing processes.
• How many non-native English speakers will need
interpretation services? 5-7 people.
• What will the format be? Non-structured - walking &
talking on the production floor, some training checklists will be followed but will mostly be Q&A.
