English > German: A large sci-fiction volume, 400,000 words
Dear Sirs,
We have been entrusted by an American publishing company (our client) to take care of the check of the existing translation and following editing of a large sci-fiction volume, the original text being in English.
It is a very large volume, around 400,000 words, a novel. The old translation probably dates back to the 80’s and now the publishing company wants to make a brand new edition reconsidering the whole translation.
The title of the novel is “Battlefield Earth” by L. Ron Hubbard.
I also have the files to show, if you would like to take a look at the existing text. According to the quality of the existing text and the requirement of the publishing company the deadline is fixed in around a couple of month, so it is really an urgent job.
We are therefore looking for a skilled German mother tongue translator/editor with proved literary experience to assign this job.
