English > Hindi: Urgently require Native Hindi freelance translators residing in India

Dear Sir/Madam,

A leading provider of quality subtitling, closed captioning and translation services for major motion picture studios, film festivals, broadcast and cable networks, is seeking:

Main Duties:
 Translating of subtitles from English to Hindi
 Proofreading of subtitles
 Creation of subtitles from provided script
 Quality Checks (consistency, synchronicity)

You cannot translate script in word doc or some other source and then paste it as our software will not recognize it. One will have to type in and translate the subtitles using/in our software once they join us as translators.
Education, Experience and Competencies:
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Be native speakers of Hindi
• Possess a strong knowledge of English Language(knowledge of other languages is an asset)
• Have a bachelor degree and/or experience related to Translation, Literature, Journalism or Communication
• Be computer-oriented and have good knowledge of MS Office Suite
• Have affinity for North American cinema and television

Availability / Deadlines
Our deadlines can be quite short and we expect you to adhere to them at all times.

You will be assigned work based on a benchmark of around 500 subtitle boxes per day for translation, and half a day for proofreading for the same number of boxes.
Please note that as this is freelance work, we cannot guarantee a steady workload as this depends on industry requirements.
IT/PC Requirements
In order to collaborate with us, you will need to work on our proprietary software. To install it you will need to have access to a computer of adequate capacity. Only candidates with Windows XP, Vista or 7 with at least 1 GB RAM and broadband Internet (with minimum download speed of 1 Mbps) will be considered. Applicants with other operating systems (including Windows 8) will not be considered as our proprietary software is not compatible with these. Candidates with mobile Internet (3G, 4G) will not be considered due to connection instability for download of assets.
