Seeking a translator who is fluent in English as well as German
A woman's novel: Romance/Mystery - 96, 000 words.
I would like to work closely with the translator, either through Skype, or personally if you live near Augsburg.
The novel was originally meant to be published in America, therefore a native speaker, or a translator who has studied in America is a plus factor.

For the first time Melanie was keenly aware of the traditional New England homes, she passed. She loved the vast front porches, supporting the overhead balconies with thick white columns. Drumming her fingers along the picket fences, she gazed up at the shuttered windows. She knew each family by name, their children's names and their cousin's names.
Small mounds of snow spread scattered on wide sweeping front lawns. She looked up at the crowns of the rows of old Maple trees. They spread their naked branches, like protective arms, over the avenue, reaching out to one another while forming a natural tunnel over the densely grown street. The cold crisp air smelled sweet from the scents of maple leaves decomposing beneath the trees. A porch swing squeaked, moving gently in the breeze.
This is my home, she thought.
She imagined her father's voice when he boasted: “I’m as much of an American patriot as any Bostonian, who claims their American ancestry goes back to the Mayflower. It doesn’t matter how many of your ancestors lived in the same country before your time. What matters is your own love and loyalty for your new country; you’re new home."
