1 PROCESS DESCRIPTION (GENERAL CONCEPT)
The wet flue gas cleaning system is an efficient proven process for the removal of hydrogen chloride, sulphur dioxide, hydrogen fluoride, mercury, heavy metals, dioxins, furans and solid particulate pollutants from waste incinerators flue gas.
The flue gas cleaning system for the plant of xxxxxxxx is composed of:
• A bag house filter for dust removal, as well as removal of mercury and dioxins with activated carbon injection.
• An economizer to ensure heat recovery.
• A first open spray acid scrubber to quench the gas and remove mainly hydrogen chloride, hydrogen fluoride, heavy metals and mercury. Limited neutralization of the acid pollutants is performed directly in this scrubber by limestone slurry injection.
• A second open spray scrubber for removal of sulfur dioxide with limestone slurry injection.
• A third spray scrubber composed of two parts: a first part equipped with the patented LAB G and a second part with structured packing, for possible removal of dioxins with activated coke slurry injection. Additionally a water/water heat exchanger is installed for heat recovery from flue gas condensation with direct transfer of energy to the district heating system.
• A block of AGGLOFILTERING MODULES to remove the very fine dust particles.
• An induced draught fan to send the cleaned flue gases to the atmosphere through ducts including a silencer and a stack, in which pollutants are continuously measured and monitored.
