Leaving shortly after ten on Saturday morning Caterina, Emilia and Davide had walked from Malasaña through the streets on the west side of Madrid. They had ambled up the Paseo del Pintor Rosales along the the Parque del Oueste to the teleférico and bought tickets. Now they were in a small gondola passing high over the river Manzanares, a stream compared to the
Thames or the Seine and barely a dribble if put alongside the Hudson or the Nile, heading towards the centre of the Casa del Campo.
"Oohh, look at those" exclaimed Emilia, pointing to the four towers that dominate the northern Madrid skyline. "What are they?"
