The focus text for this chapter warns against having an exaggerated opinion of our importance, skill or ability. Though the mountaintop may bring with it a high altitude of position, take care not to allow an elevated air of selfdom and audaciously smug attitudes to invade your psyche. The Word of God keeps those prideful characteristics deterred. It keeps us aware of the power of God working through us. It helps us continue to love and lovingly give to others and instructs us on how to conduct ourselves with meekness and humility in all situations. It helps us to resist the unique temptations that exist on the mountaintop. We need the Word of God.
