There are increasingly many so-called face- and neck-lifts (face- and neck-tightening) that are based on bygone techniques but still being used also by less experienced surgeons – the problem here is that all “soft” – bio- S- and similar lifts have a temporary effect only because they exclusively or nearly always rely on skin tightening. Since skin is rather elastic, its tension diminishes rather quickly with time and the initial effect fades away fast. After such an operation a face often appears rather unnatural, sometimes even like a mask.
