Inglés > Español: Enfermedad de Lyme, 520 páginas
Tema: Enfermedad de Lyme (medicina, plantas medicinales).
Nro. de páginas: 520
Ejemplo de texto:
The spirochetes that cause Lyme are stealth pathogens - they can hide within cells or alter their form so that our immune systems cannot find them, as well inhibit the effectiveness of antibiotics.
Borrelia stimulate cytokine production through two mechanisms: 1 direct action (they actually create cytokine, and 2 indirect action, by stimulating, in specific ways, the body´s own natural cytokine responses to infection.
As the spirochetes begin breaking down collagenous structures, many of those structural fragments, released in free form into the body, stimulate cytokine release. Fibronectin breakdown, for instance, stimulates the release of ICAM-1, IL-6, CXCL1, CCL1, CCL2 and CCL5.
There are 157 various Uncaria species around the world but most of these (maybe) are the same as other species just with a different name or else they might be subspecies or maybe they´are variants or something, n one seems to know. It´s pretty confusing. Taxonomists again.
Uncaria tormentosa and U. guianensis are the only two Central/South American species. Both are used in tradicional practice there U. tormentosa has come to prominence from its use in the treatment of Lyme infections. (See the POA/TOA rant for more on this).
