Naren looked at an ocean of friends, relatives, and wellwishers around him, felt his chest swell with pride and satisfaction. His daughter Kanishka was getting married today. He had left no stone unturned to make this occasion a perfect one. The venue, a high-end five-star hotel in South Delhi swarmed with people who had done well enough for themselves to keep up with the likes of Naren—whose eyes reflected the youth of this evening to perfection. This setting was a dream for many but a possibility for only a chosen few like Naren, whose wealth had more zeros than many mortals could hope to acquire. Kanishka, who was getting married to a Harvard-graduated lad, had herself acquired a management degree from India’s topmost management institute in Ahmadabad. Instead of joining a corporate house for a big, fat, obscene salary, she chose to work with her dad.
