Potential request for translation quotes from freelance translators (no agencies please)
English > Italian: Looking for translators EN > IT
intelliText SprachenService is participating in the bidding process for a four-year framework agreement to translate financial and business texts from English into Italian.
The work will be performed remotely using Trados; the anticipated start date is August 2027.
As part of this process, we are looking for translators to add to our roster, and I would very much appreciate your participation in this matter.
THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS APPLY FOR PARTICIPATION:
- Native Italian (C2) and English at the C2 level
- At least 8 years of professional experience translating from English to Italian (EN>IT), including at least 6 years in the fields of economics, finance, banking, or banking supervision
- At least 6,000 EN>IT pages in these subject areas (1 page = 1,500 characters without spaces)
- Proof of the above criteria through third-party documents (degrees, references, contracts, assignments, invoices) OR the ability to obtain them within 2 weeks.
- Availability to take the ECB translation test on Monday, November 2, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. CET. You would take the test on your own, without using machine translation (MT) or AI.
In addition, the contracting authority mentions the following points:
- Each translator must provide a Europass CV in English
- A security check, in the form of a certificate of good conduct and other documents to be completed, may be required.
- Training may take place on-site at the client’s location (in southern Hesse), which could last several days. However, there is no further information available on this yet, nor is it guaranteed to be necessary.
