INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT
ON TELEVISION - A commercial for a pill (LEPAXTRA) treating erectile dysfunction plays. In it a handsome, middle-aged actor (who we’ll later know as TONIO) frolics with his gorgeous, doting “wife” on the beach. They hold hands, run from the shoreline, etc. Pure cheese. Over this, we hear a myriad of rapid-fire warnings:
MAN’S VOICE (ON TV) Do not take Lepaxtra if you take
nitrates for chest pain or any medication for pulmonary hypotension. To avoid long term injury, seek immediate medical attention if an erection lasts more than four hours.
REVERSE - Megan sleeps soundly in bed as Charlie watches the commercial.
MAN’S VOICE (ON TV) Stop taking Lepaxtra if you
experience a sudden decrease or loss in vision or hearing, or become dizzy or incontinent.
(pause)
Ask your doctor about Lepaxtra now!
10.
The commercial ends. Charlie thinks for a few seconds, then lifts up the covers and looks at his penis.
CHARLIE
I think you’re perfectly adequate.
