Beispieltext:
Genesis 12:1
Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee.
This verse says that LORD had said, past tense. God had spoken to Abraham previously. I am going to use some deductive reasoning, because the Word does not state some things specifically. It appears, however, as if God had spoken to Abraham while in the Ur of Chaldees and that Abraham’s father and Lot decided to go with Abraham, even though God had told Abra- ham to leave this place, his father and his kinfolk.
When Terah died, Abraham remembered God’s words and started moving again. What do we learn from this?
First, we see that Abraham found it difficult to leave his kinfolk, although the Lord had told him to do so. His fa- ther went with him, and Lot went with him. Even after his father died and the Lord clearly said that Abraham was to leave his kindred, Abraham still took Lot. Abra- ham accepted the call and headed to the Promised Land, but he was delayed and allowed other things to keep him from fully answering the call.
