English > French: Full time position in Montreal (Canada)
We are looking for a full time, in-house translator/revisor for the combination of English - French for our Montreal office.
Our in-house team is comprised of serious linguists who have a love for language and enjoy working in a professional environment with other colleagues. You will enjoy group interaction as well as working on your own. As an agency environment is face-paced and deals with many areas of expertise, your life experience and well-rounded education will be an asset to you in this position.
Position requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Translation or equivalent work experience
• 5 to 7 years of experience in translation / revision
• Expert knowledge of French language with a proven and demonstrable interest in languages and literature.
• Strong computer competency (MS Office with focus on Word, PowerPoint and Excel, in order of importance)
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work under pressure
• Excellent research skills and experience in maintaining a specialized terminology bank
• Proofreading and editing final translated versions - ensuring accuracy and consistency of style, tone and terminology
• Acting as final proofreader for French documents
• CAT tool experience (and willingness to learn new ones)
• Medical translation experience a definite asset
• High level knowledge of English a must
Interpersonal skills:
• Self-motivated, team player, action and results oriented
• Well organized, good communication and reporting skills
• Ability to successfully work under tight project deadlines
Salary:
Commensurate with experience
