English > French: Sentences for a novel
I'm writing a novel in which a character speaks a very particular type of English. It is the English of someone who learned French before she learned English and didn't learn either language very well. I have her speaking 15 sentences in English but they have to be translated into the English that would be spoken by someone who learned a poor French before she learned a poor English. Please contact me if you can take on this assignment. Sample sentences appear below. Let me know what your fee will be. Thank you.
Example of text:
Her French was poor and her English was even worse because the schools in the fishing villages where she grew up weren’t very good.
Showering in my office doesn’t give me the pleasure I enjoyed when I was bathing in the sea during the years when I lived in the fishing village as a girl and could walk into the water from the beach in front of my home.
I’m no longer a fry cook on the beach because I’ve risen to become the island's prime minister, despite all the obstacles that were thrown in my way by those who were jealous of me and who felt they’re better than I am because I came from the fishing villages.
I’ve come straight to this office after a difficult eight-hour ferry ride following my meeting in the Madagascar’s capital city.
