Bushido

My comment:

'Bushido ' means the Way of the Warrior and is often used in a metaforical sense. Bushi means warrior and the suffix 'do' means 'the way'. It is the same 'do' as in Aikido, Kendo or Judo.

Bushido is quite an old term but was reinvented in the last decade of the 19th century for nationalistic purposess.

Another term that comes to mind is 'hagakure' a word originating, if I am not misttaken fromt the 15th century. It also has a connotation of 'doing things the right way'.
