Barbara R. Cochran (a guest user) asked this question:

Language pair:

Spanish > English

Subject:

Medical

Level of diffculty:

Easy / medium

Word or term in question:

crisis de llanto

Context:

On Depression Rating Scale: "T

Keywords:

Psychiatry

crying spell

My comment:

I like this one best. "fit" connotes something quite strong, as it could be an "angry crying" a "tantrum" whereas talking about "depression" I think spell matches better. Spell implies that is a feeling stronger than yourself, something you cannot help feeling but not necessary a strong crying bout or crying fit, just a crying you cannot stop.

I thought of the same translation a few moments after I entered the translation. Thanks for the insightful comments and the confirmation of my translation.
