Wenn damit ein Waffensystem (Laserfragen etc.) bezeichnet wird , halte ich das für den passenden Ausdruck, wenn man's denn überhaupt übersetzt.
Für eine Sportart ist der Begriff wenn , dann nur für Fussball zu verwenden, auch wenns beim Baseball "strike"(Aufprall) heißt, so bleiben Schläger und Werfer doch "batter" und "pitcher"
