gap between glass surfaces

My comment:

Similar to other posters to be sure, however, the term "gap" is significant. It sounds like your design and construction document is concerned with windows and glass surfaces (obviously). In construction, the term is "gap" to disucss the distant between two objects -- in this case, your glass surfaces. The is reinforced by the context of pressure testing as suggested by "belastbar".

My references:

Personal translation experience with construction and legal patent documents describing tension and distance objects. Also, see Leo for "belastbar" and "flaechen".

area between glass surfaces

My comment:

It is about the area between two glass surfaces, how it can be used.

You are right on the gist of your translation; however, in a construction context, the term "surface between" is called a "gap".

A clutch is a device that transmits rotation and is found in autos and motorcycles. It doesn't fit with ZwischenGLASflächen.
