My comment:

Common in UK and US are grades denoted by letter "A", "B" .... up to "F" (for Flunk or Failed). "Befriedigend" in German would equate the number "3". In UK/US it is common to add a "+" or "-" to show "better" or "worse". Thus it would be a "3+" in German or a "C+" or "C++" in UK/US.
