Barbara Cochran (a guest user) asked this question:

Language pair:

French > English

Subject:

Other

Level of diffculty:

Easy / medium

Word or term in question:

m'a rappelé à l'ordre

Context:

Tour en conduisant, je me suis tourné vers lui. Il m'a rappelé à l'ordre car je commençais

Keywords:

...à zigzaguer sur la route.

he told me to watch what I was doing

My comment:

for a less formal alternative - it all depends on the character and personality of the speaker - so only you can tell really Barbara. Further alternatives would include 'he told me to mind what I was doing' / 'he told me to mind out' / 'He told me to keep my mind on the road' etc.
