Barbara Cochran (a guest user) asked this question:

Language pair:

Subject:

Other

Level of diffculty:

Easy / medium

Word or term in question:

appareil Alpha, Bravo faisant route au cap

Context:

Appareil Alpha, Bravo faisant route au cap zéro zéro huit degrés vous êtes en violation du

Keywords:

...territoire malasien. Je vous demande de vous poser immédiatement, sans quoi vous serez abattus sur le champ... Radio message from a fighter jet to a helicopter that is trying to escape.

Aircraft Alpha Bravo on heading...

My comment:

...zero zero eigh degrees...

This is certainly one aircraft with a two-letter call sign, not two aircraft. The comma, though illogical in English, is functioning in the same way as the separator comma between Christian names in reportage.
