My comment:

This is almost like translating poetry and I'm sorry, I couldn't find anything to sound more similar, such as "pick -n-mix". Maybe there is even a corresponding term, for those of you who are true experts in both languages.

hi brent - your comment about poetry was very important and put me on aonther search track - i found the phrase "méli-mélo" which i think does the trick.
