Man kann das auf KEINEN FALL wörtlich übersetzen. Das Bild der "fetten Lady" gibt es auf Deutsch nicht!

Nur, um diese Version auch noch hinzuzufügen: "It ain't over until the fat lady has sung" ist ein südamerikanisches sprichwort das aus der kirche kommt - die dicke dame singt am ende des gottesdienstes, so, wie elvis am schluss des konzerts das gebäude verlässt. meines wissens ... aber wer weiss diese dinge schon? die bedeutung bleibt ...

Die fat lady war bekanntermaßen die erste Atombombe, die auf Hiroshima abgeworfen wurde. Seit dem ist jeder Bezug auf diese Liedzeile auch auf dieses historische Zitat gemünzt, z.B.: "As far as Iraq goes, the fat lady hasn't sung yet."

Meines Wissens kommt dieser Ausspruch tatsächlich aus dem Theathermilieu, wo es üblich war, dass am Schluss immer "eine dicke Frau/Dame" sang - und das galt es abzuwarten ...
Wenn "it's not over till it's over" gemeint ist, stimmt mein deutscher Vorschlag.

Es kommt auf den Kontext an. Falls es hier drum geht von der fetten Lady etwas zu erfahren, dann ist damit gemeint, dass sie ihr Geheimnis noch nicht verraten hat.
