To describe a place of belonging, you go one step beyond just "home". :)

Griha is also used in Hindi, Nepali etc. Please note that there is a difference between Griha and Graha. Griha is home and graha is planet.
'Ghar' in Hindi and Nepali as well.

references? look out any dictionary english to sanskrit or sanskrit to english. It's the same
