This vacation is great and "C'est le pied" is a collquial phrase from students of the seventies listening to british or american pop music, meaning nothing else than "getting one's kicks out of something"

Difficult to translate 'le pied', but how about "Holidays are cool" given the lady's situation? My daughters agree with this suggestion!
