Carlos Pablo MIGUES-LABANCA, BSc.  See profile asked this question:

Language pair:

Russian > English

Subject:

General

Level of diffculty:

Easy / medium

Word or term in question:

exact difference between тоже and ещё

Context:

I desperatly need an explanation of the diference in meaning and -above all- USAGE. The bare translation doesn't help me much, as both seem to mean: also, too, a.s.o.
Thank you very much in advance for your help. I really appreciate.

тоже = too, (either in negative sentences), ещё = 1. also 2. yet 3. more

My comment:

This apple is red, that tomato is red too.
I like apples and also tomatoes and also bananas.
Also: don't forget to make homework.
He hasn't come yet.
I dont like her either.
Part of this found on Yahoo, and it seems rather precise, i just added some.
I also found a good resource, especially regarding the usage:
