Barbara R. Cochran (a guest user) asked this question:

Language pair:

Subject:

General

Level of diffculty:

Easy / medium

Word or term in question:

lámina (de coche)

Context:

An almost blind handicapped child who has just gotten off a van for the handicapped, which had pulled up behind his father's car.

In English, it's called a quarterpanel (the sheet metal on the side of a car).

My comment:

Barbara, watch out for Spanish interference in your English. People don't get "off" of vehicles; they get "out".
