Rosa (a guest user) asked this question:

Language pair:

French > English

Subject:

Law / Certificates

Level of diffculty:

Easy / medium

Word or term in question:

VD

Context:

In a Swiss divorce decree:

né à Vevey/VD, le

originaire de Crissier/VD

I know that the canton is Vaud, is that what VD stands for and if so, should I write out VAUD in the translation or just leave it as is?

The answer of CMD  See profile was rated best

VD

My comment:

VD + translator's note

just note in brackets :
“ international abbreviation of the Canton of Vaud” OR "int. abbr.of the Canton of Vaud"
