My comment:

According to Ernst WB der industriellen Technik, one meaning for "Schuessen" is (the plural form of) '(boiler) shell ring', thus by extension reasonably a "shell ring" of anything more or less cylindrical. We have inadequate context here to be certain of our answers, so WHERE are we talking about - what PART of the installation?
I can well imagine it has to do with the actual tower construction - or its skeleton - but as stated, without context...

I think it must be rings they solder on to make a thread so the sections of the tower fit together, so thanks this probably best describes them.
