Sladjana (a guest user) asked this question:

Language pair:

German > English

Subject:

Business / Marketing / Financial

Level of diffculty:

Easy / medium

Word or term in question:

"AG" für Auftraggeber, "AN" fü

Context:

"AG" für Auftraggeber und "AN"

Keywords:

Basis Vertrag

AG = company / AN = contractor

My comment:

From my experience these are the most frequently used terms in contracts. Because of the similiarity of COM and CON it is NOT common to use abbreciations. Even if another term is used, they are NOT abbreviated.

The asker's comment:

Thank you! I have decided not to use the abbreviations, because it isn't common to use them in English. However, the appropriate terms were Principal and Contractor for the contract I translated. Thank you once again and have a nice weekend :-)
