Language pair:

English > Spanish

Subject:

Other

Level of diffculty:

Easy / medium

Word or term in question:

lame duck

Context:

politics. I know the meaning need idomatic equivalent

persona sin poder / elefante blanco

My comment:

I would use persona sin poder as the most accurate one for politics... if you look at the origin and the meaning of the term when it first was used, then elefante blanco might be a better option
