Language pair:

English > German

Subject:

Technical / Engineering

Level of diffculty:

Difficult / demanding

Word or term in question:

PRESS-ON TIRE

Context:

Gabelstapler

The answer of Rupert Kindermann  See profile was rated best

Gabelstapler-Reifen / Reifen für Gabelstapler

My comment:

The question seems to be what a PRESS-ON actually is. It is NOT a "snap on" tire or other thoughts inherent in some suggestions. It is a tire tough enough that a WEIGHT, a LOAD is being "pressed onto" the tire. A regular car tire would break (explode) if used on a fork lift - due to the pressure exerted on the tire. Thus these tires are (usually, but not always) made of solid rubber.

There is no context so I do not know which KIND of tire is referred to (for the different types of tires for a fork lift see the link below).

Hope this helps.

The asker's comment:

Lieber Herr Kindermann,
dank Ihrer einleuchtenden Argumentation habe ich mich für "Reifen für Flurförderzeuge" entschieden.
