The answer of   See profile was rated best

under the regime of community of property

My comment:

Under French and Quebec law, marriage may be under one of two :"regimes" - "separation as to property" or "community of property". Also, property acquired after marriage is called an "acquest". The default "regime" is community of property" - "separation of property" is by marriage contract. See the link, about half way down the page. The page is also available in French - see français link top left corner

The asker's comment:

Thank you for your help. I went with, "under the rules governing community of property."
