De acuerdo con el Oxford Advanced (7th Ed.) "bottom-up" se define como: "starting with details and then later moving on to more general principles".

En español el término usado para describir los procesos que van de lo particular a lo general es "inducción" (recordarás el 'método inductivo'). Por tanto creo que el término "inductivo" es clave para dar sentido correcto a la traducción.
