Geea (a guest user) asked this question:

Language pair:

French > English

Subject:

Other

Level of diffculty:

Easy / medium

Word or term in question:

souffler un brin

Context:

dans un café, l’un de ces endroits perdus où l’on peut boire et souffler un brin

Keywords:

un café sur une route abandonnée /// I'm thinking this means something like "just kick back" - what do you think? TIA (thanks in advance)

The answer of   See profile was rated best

take a bit of a break by having a drink/just kick back and have a drink

My comment:

"Un brin" is sometimes translated as "a trifle." "Souffler," "to relax", or "to have a break."

Although I think what you came up with would work really well.
