My comment:

Estoy de acuerdo con tu traducción, colocada está bien, y propongo otra opción: recargada (Méx. y otros países de AL).

La idea del inglés es que la tarjeta guardaba el equilibrio en donde estaba colocada (es una tarjeta hecha a mano, quizás no se abre como un libro para sostenerse por sí sola), recargada en la base de la lámpara. Como el verbo to lean: to rest against or on something for support: to lean against a wall.
