From your context, it seems that the dealer is old and patient, an old man moving deliberately, his heart rate at a resting 60bpm, much as one would expect from the pendulum of the clock. One could say his heart was 'chiming' with the rhythm but that would overtranslate the clock metaphor, and resonating isn't quite right either. Nice imagery in the ST though...
