Context:

Perimeter walls with 2 insulated panels separated by air space with sprayed concrete, resulting in traditional mechanical characteristics with superior thermal insulation.

My comment:

you can ignore "air" in French. "espace" is also a translation for "gap". If you want a qualifier, say "espace vide". Vide in this context doesn't mean that there is vacuum.
