"...8th grade of high school"

My comment:

Since, the Educational System in Spain, has changed various times, during the last decade and a half, the current system equates to the following equivalents, as per USA and Canadian systems:

Educación Primaria = Primary School (6-11 years old)
Educación Secundaria = Secondary/Junior High School (12-15 years old)
Bachillerato = Senior High School (16-17 years old)

Previously, there existed "EGB - Educación General Báscica" (12-13 years old), known as "Middle/Secundary School" in USA and Canada, which was the equivalent of 7th and 8th grade... not quite High School yet.
