My comment:

According to google there is no direct evidence of the word "Lackierlasche".

Lasche is represented as a bracket - source: http://stahlhandel-will.com/sonderposten/65/lasche-30-x-5-langloch
Parts of the car body are equipped with such brackets so that they can be suspended during paint jobs without damaging the paint during the process.
That is how I motivate my translation.
