También envidiaba el éxito de su hermana Gracia que, en vísperas de prejubilarse el año próximo, disfrutaba del cariño de su marido Matthew y de sus dos hijas, Claudia y Catalaina. Quería dedicarse a ofertar un taller de escritura, tras cosechar una carrera literaria llena de éxitos.

"Going into semi-retirement"?

 

 

"... Gracia's success who, about/due to take an early retirement the following year, enjoyed..."

My comment:

In Spain it means "early retirement", however, the procedure is swift and definite.
