Barbara R. Cochran (a guest user) asked this question:

Language pair:

Spanish > English

Subject:

General

Level of diffculty:

Easy / medium

Word or term in question:

la encandilaría

Context:

"Although, unlike his father, he would dazzle/warm her up by taking care of/looking after her heart."

My comment:

"Encandilar" in colloquial terms means to "stoke" as in a fire, but, it also means "Despertar o excitar el sentimiento o deseo amoroso" (RAE).
