Emprendió un viaje largo y tedioso que abarcó varios años hasta que, al fin, encontró a una mujer - una "humana" como diría su padre - que cocinaba arándanos y le gustaban las mimosas. Aunque, a diferencia de su padre, la encandilaría cuidando de su corazón.

My comment:

"Encandilar" in colloquial terms means to "stoke" as in a fire, but, it also means "Despertar o excitar el sentimiento o deseo amoroso" (RAE).

My comment:

i can't think of any other way of keeping the flower image of "encandelaria". The verb tend is used to carry the metaphor further.
