My comment:

Creo que la idea de "blockbuster" está bien, pero creo que la estructura de la frase no es muy inglesa.
Creo que con la expresión de "hot cakes" se recoge la misma idea que en español. Además el sujeto de la oración tiene que ser el libro y no el autor (en internet se ve muy bien el uso). Espero que te aclare o te sirva de algo.
