Bettina In der Wische (a guest user) asked this question:

Language pair:

English > German

Subject:

Law / Certificates

Level of diffculty:

Difficult / demanding

Word or term in question:

prosecution counsel

Context:

XXX shall consult with Principal Licensor on selection of prosecution counsel.

Keywords:

Patente, Patentrecht, patent law

Staatsanwalt, Anwalt der Klagepartei, prozessfuehrender Anwalt der Klagepartei

My comment:

In criminal law: Staatsanwalt
In a civil matter there should be no prosecution counsel, but a claimant's counsel instead.
The above applies to England and Wales and may differ in the US, Canada, Australia etc.

My references:

My own assignments in criminal and civil matters in England and Wales.
