Rosa (a guest user) asked this question:

Language pair:

French > English

Subject:

Law / Certificates

Level of diffculty:

Easy / medium

Word or term in question:

Mat

Context:

ACTE DE NAISSANCE
COPI INTEGRALE

ANNEE ####

ACTE DE NAISSANCE Nº#### - Mat

[Nom]

This birth certificate was issued in France, where the child was born, though the parents were born in Burkina Faso so unsure if that is relevant. Just can't figure out what this stands for. Only the first letter is capital (M), if that makes a difference. (I don't think it's maternité.)

Maternity Services

My comment:

Seems to be one of the more up to date ways to refer to that kind of hospital or facility, other than "birthing center". So it may depend on when the individual in question was born.

My comment:

Mat = Maternité = maternity hospital/clinic/ward
