correcting fluid

My comment:

Tipp-ex is used colloquially, but if you don't want to use a brand name, "correcting fluid" is the usual term

tipp-ex

My comment:

white-out is absolutely correct, but depending on the context, people tend to use tipp-ex which is a brand name of a white-out pen (like when they say hoover meaning vacuum-cleaner)

It could be tippex but I also think this refers to a white out pen - used to erase felt tip and ink. Regularly used in Italian schools (not so much in the UK).
