In the international KLM website, you will find the abbreviation of the Dutch name together with the English translation: KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.

The answer is correct. But the asker needs to be informed that there is no such thing as Koninklijke "Luckvaart" Maatschappij. It should be "Luchtvaart".

I'm afraid that I misunderstood your question, because I thought that you erroneously wrote "Koninkiijke Luckvaart Maatschappij". If the original text contained this error, you could either contact your customer, find out if they are aware of this error and if you can correct it, or you could insert a translator's note informing the reader on this error.

KLM

My comment:

You answered the question yourself - it's the name of the airline, so therefore does not need to be translated. If you're absolutely certain you need to do something with it, you could always say "KLM, the Dutch national airline..."

I agree with you, Wendy. The abbreviation 'KLM' is well-known enough for it to be recognizable. I would put "KLM (Royal Dutch Airlines)" if you need to spell it out, though. x
