Apart from the mud GRAVEL seems to be the "dirt" out there... ;-)
Both can be real challenges even for utility vehicles.

whats wrong with dirty/dirt? as we speak of a test drive--in this context you always talk about: eg. dirt track---
maybe use "extreme/extremely " for hochgradig

My comment:

I find 'verschmutztes' an odd word to use here, as if somebody went around making the ground 'dirty'. Presumably the author meant something like 'aufgewuehlt' (churned up) - but that's not what he wrote.
